“Hummer-donk” illusion, view #1

This “hummer-donk” topsy-turvy illusion was inspired by Pat Carroll on “Meet the Woodturner” after numerous request by Pat for me to make the hummingbird sound. (We have lots of them flying around here). IF I actually made the sound, I think I would sound more like the donkey! Not happening! 🤣
The pattern came from a craft guild member. We all had a good laugh.
I’ve added the bucket, it is turned from Ambrosia maple, ebonized and silver acrylic paint added. (2 1/4”x2”) The topsy-turvy carving is 4 1/2”tall x 2”wide.

We have a bunch of hummers twittering at each other and for many years the cattle pasture behind us had a melodious Donkey. Most of the ranches have resident Donkeys to chase the coyotes away from the calves.

Gotta find both animals so endearing. How neat that you have such an entertaining group right in your back pasture!! Heard about the protective qualities of the Donkeys. All the more reason to love them!☺️
