 I'm new here and love what I see, thanks for all the hard work, I know this wasn't an easy project.

But shouldn't there be a link from each of the Forum's to each of the Galleries and the Galleries to the Forums? I've gone to the Galleries several times now, searched the screens carefully and could not find a way back to the Main Forum, just the Logo.

Can someone please help this old - - turner??? I know there must be a way but I can't find it

Cheers :)

You know, that's a good question. The way that I know of is to click on the titles on the top left

In this case to get back to the top, click on the title that says "AAW FORUMS"

Personally, I would like to see a spell checker also.

Thanks for the kudos....you're right it was a time consuming project but the results are already speaking for themselves with all the great photos and some nice discussions going.

I also access these 2 forums everyday. But I also access other websites with their subsites. Why not put 2 bookmarks on your browser - one to the forum and one to the pictures?

Alternatives:
From the photo gallery - you can click on the "forum combo page" in the upper menu to get back to the combo page. From the text forum, you can click on "AAW Forums" to get back to the combo page.

And....did you know that you can now click on the upper left hand AAW icon from anywhere in the AAW site and it will take you to AAW home?

If other folks add their input to this thread and want the links I'll figure out how to add them.

I think people may not recognise the breadcrumb trail because the words are not very explanatory. Substitute "Combo Page" for "AAW Forums", "Main Forum Index" for "Main Category" ... and then there seems to be an extra level - "Main Forum" becomes "You are here"?

The place I looked first for a link to the Gallery was on the Quick Links drop-down.

And why do I (and almost everyone else) show up as "Junior member"

Thanks for all the hard work,

Graeme

The user titles are auto-generated from the forum software. The titles are based on how many posts you have made:
Junior Member 0-30 posts
Member 30-100 posts
Senior Member 100+ posts

and Moderator is assigned manually to the three moderators: Steve Worcester, Chris Wright, and myself, although usually Steve and Chris have been doing most of the responses.

So Jeff,

I guess this Junior/Senior thing runs counter to the real aging procees where the more senior you get the quieter you get, right?

[Ok, I'll just go back to the corner for a while :D ]

I could always invert the way it sets it up. Heck, if it was measuring my input, I'd still be a junior. Steve is always handing out valuable advice, and Chris has been too - so they deserve their moderator status.

I'm not sure it's an age thing. I've seen some of the older guys posting frequently on various forums. And for me it's easier to stick to the tech stuff since I've been doing it for a whole lotta years.

Jeff, I can think of one small improvement to navigating on this site--
If I click on a picture to view it, there's no link to the forums. It links to "Home" in two places, which brings me back to the Gallery standalone page, also with no links to the forums.

I'm an experienced computer user and can figure out my own ways to get around this, but I think the novice surfer needs a little more help here to make it as easy as possible. If I didn't know how to open new windows or tabs, or use the back button or Go menu, I'd feel kinda stuck--so I'd have to click on the AAW logo to get back to the forum in a roundabout way.

Otherwise, the whole AAW site is a pleasure to browse around in, and I've never seen a better forum setup than this anywhere!

Jeff,

I have just discovered your wonderful discussion environment. Keep up the good work. I particularly enjoy the photo gallery. I just can't believe that I can quickly get to this site and see such imaginative creations that are hot off the lathes of such talented artists!

I noticed some suggestions from the previous contributions, but I really can't see any problems. It took some getting used to, but I feel comfortable moving around now and I just joined the group 2 days ago. I have to admit that I am very comfortable with the computer. Thankfully, anyone having trouble can just ask for help since this is such an interactive environment.
