This is a little off topic, but I'm reminded of the time l was installing a simple shelf in our mud room. When it turned up an inch short, l immediately began to examine my tape measure to figure out how it failed me. With my wife looking over my shoulder, l confessed that l would need to take the shelf to my board stretcher. To which, she just said, "You are so male".

Board stretchers are real ... I have one somewhere. The only disadvantage is when you stretch a board it becomes thinner and narrower. What we need is a three axis board stretcher. :D
