Thanks for the video link. I’m even more interested to read a book from Mike Darlow now. As someone said, ‘bad press is better than no press at all’ when it came to the AAW mag review.

Well also, what a reviewer deplores might be a feature the reader wants. For example I enjoy Darlow’s discursive writing, he’s a trove of tangential information. I‘d prefer that, vs a book of projects that just marches one step to the next. As noted on the Coffee Hour video, to my eye his best book is WoodTurning Design, even though it’s not the best seller.

Thank you John for the invitation and making your Coffee Hour sessions available. I thoroughly enjoyed Mike Darlow’s participation as well as the many others in your Zoom session. There is no doubt we are in the midst of rapidly changing and developing methods of disseminating woodturning information. It is brave of Mike to put the effort into writing another book these days when new turners are of the You Tube generation. There was a lot of agreement of my own views and those of your participants and members, especially wrt spindle tuning. I personally have I think three of his previous books and his technical approach to turning is no doubt one of the best. I would like to compliment you on your moderating. Very nicely done.

@John: Thanks for drawing my attention to MD's latest book. Have all his previous ones and love them for his passion for details. Another thank you for teaching me a phrase I didn't know. Tangential information is a superb description. Book ordered.
