Very nice. I'm new to segmented turning. I actually started at the beginning of the pandemic to keep from going crazy(er). I appreciate how much work this piece took. Well done.

Very impressive. I lack the patience and still have too many “design modifications” during turning to want to risk the time making a segmented piece.

I find that turning a segmented piece is the easiest part of the project. It's all side grain and all you have to do is cut away the high points and your shape will appear. Segmented projects seem to turn much easier than a big log. The wood is already kiln dried and there's no excess weight in the middle to worry about. The hard part is the design and cutting all those little pieces to the right size, sanding them and gluing them up into rings etc.
