Has anyone used the bowl gouges offered by John Jordan? The handle looks like it would be comfortable. I need a good bowl gouge to take to a class with John Jordan this summer. Any suggestions?

I took a class with John Jordan a few years ago at Arrowmont. Loved it. Learned a lot. John uses a "Irish Grind" on his gouges. When I took the class he required everyone to use the same grind on their gouges. I saw John's handles at a one day demo a couple of months ago. They were nice. At the time John was not sure he was going to be able to handle the gouges though due to the exchange rate of the U.S. dollar. I just purchased a couple of P&N gouges from Lee Valley. I think I like them but have not had enough time with them yet. Enjoy your class with John, it will be fun and you will learn a lot. Good teacher.

I have used John's tools quite a bit and really like them. I don't think you could go wrong with his products.

Jordan tools

I have been waiting for my Jordon hollowing tools. I sent John my "Clark Deep Hollowing System" :cool2: that is a captured system. I have been waiting for his hollowing tool set in exchange.
I heard from one of my customers that his tools are very good. The customer had been using the Kelton hollowing tools and with my system he had to sharpen very often since it allows so much faster hollowing. With the Jordan tools he is able to remove much more wood before having to sharpen and is much happier. I would like to know how you like the tools when you have a chance to use them. I am hoping to provide them with my hollowing system as standard equipment, providing he sends them to me some day soon...
