For anyone else like me who's never been to the Lake Yale Baptist Conference Center, I found a pdf format map of the Conference Area that gives a good visual reference to the Symposium's relevant buildings (Maguire Educational Center, Magnolia Dining Room) and commuter parking on site. BTW, note that North is to the left.

The LYBCC forms page has other maps and info, if interested.

Kinda doubtful, I'd imagine. Hard to think of anything worse than a clown behind a lathe :D.

Rick,

You may think you have seen a few clowns behind the lathe :D when it is all done.

safety is job 1, teaching & sharing is job 2
Then it is have fun.

Anyone visiting ORLANDO i Suggest you check out Big tree park
http://www.visitseminole.com/guide/parks/park1.asp

The big tree, a bald Cypress, is thought to be 3500 years old and is 47 feet in diameter.

All the big cypress were turned into shingles by the 60s.

see you at Lake Yale

I just wanted to say (especially to anyone involved putting it together) that my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the symposium, gallery, absolutely awesome demonstrators, the exchanges with other attendees, and overall activities of the event. The work involved putting it together must be staggering, but I can assure you it's greatly appreciated.

Although the organizers are probably still recovering and eager to get back to their normal activities, a few thoughts came to mind on the drive back home. I missed grabbing one of those evaluation forms, but if one were to be made available on the symposium web site, I'd be glad to fill it out. The updated bios on the (final set of) demonstrators as displayed on the stage would be another good web site addition. Otherwise, especially from our conversations with other attendees, I think the biggest suggestion for next time would be to move the lathes 2-3 feet back so the viewing angle doesn't leave as many attendees at extreme angles off the ends of the lathe. The shoe-box proportioned rooms don't offer a lot of flexibility, but I think the demonstrators would manage just fine with a little less space behind them.

Anyway, kudos to everyone involved. This symposium may well become one of those "can't miss" events on our annual calendar. It's certainly one we'll be recommending to others.
