The body was carved textured and then finished with rub ons ,airbrushed and wire brushed to give the effect of leather .To the touch it feels like leather as well

Another in my series of Monteray 550mm square ,textured then a wash of differnt colours of acrylic milk paints then spayed with lacquer.Turned square these are time consuming but allot of fun to make

150mm square ,textured ,gold leaf .This was all turned no steaming or bending of the tail .Quite a challenge to turn up under the tail then turn out the bowl without wiping off the tail

Ancient kauri 550mm square ,hand carved ,stained and airbrushed .Jacques Vesery style feathers .

200mm square ,made from pine .The interior was sandblasted ,then coated with an artistic fixative so that it didn't loose any of the colour from sandblasting .
The wings had 3 layers of copper leaf applied then verdigree was applied .A product from modern creations

Overall size is 2"H x 5.5"D. The collar is an eight piece ebony ring, turned on the bottom, glued on, and finished turned. The bottom has a 1 1/2" flat.
