I'm looking for a source of buffalo horn in the US. I'm looking to use it on walking sticks. I found a link to site in Europe ( http://www.highlandhorn.com/shop.asp?type=6 ) that had the sort of stuff I was looking for but they will only ship very large quanities due to difficulty getting it through USDA.

Does anyone know of a supplier that handles this kind of stuff or even whole horns?

Thanks for info.

Has anyone got any experience turning horn? I've seen it used as spacer material on some walking sticks as well as handles.

Just to be plain this is water buffalo horn that I'm asking about. Not sure how our native bisons would do.

I just finished a center medallion for one of my sculptures using water buffalo horn. It turns quite nicely by using light shearing cuts. It also polishes to a high gloss. BTW...The shavings are kinda cool lookin' !!!!!!!

Try Dixie gun works in Tennessee. They sell all sorts of materials to make accessories for guns, knives etc for re-enactors. I know they have a lot of horns because I priced some of them.
