I do hollow forms with a captured bar system. Both of my boring bars (3/4" & 1 1/8") have 3/8" holes on the end to accept the cutters, mounted on a 3/8" piece of round bar stock. I'm wondering if anyone has taken the Pro-Forme cutter head and adapted it to mount on my boring bars.

ProformToolMount.jpg This is a home made holder made from an old grapple tong that is about 1 1/8" diameter tapered down to the diameter of the flange on the tool, then bored for the tool and a set screw added. The shaft is about 2 feet long and is further extended to about 4 feet with an iron pipe. I use it free hand which allows slight rotations to further control the cut. I can't say if it would work with a captive system or even be safe. The way that I have mine adjusted will usually fill the piece with shavings in about 15 seconds, but we are talking about a major amount of wood removed in that time.
