We Can make a Difference

Created the art piece using local Jacaranda wood and White thorns from a thorn bush, the final finish used: Flat Black and White Rust-Oleum spray paint with a Rust-Oleum Protective coat.
Dimension: 7.2''inch diameter x 7.4'' inch High.
It was quite a challenge to create a Lefthand and Righthand(mirror image), a lot of precision work and patience was needed to create this art piece
Year made January 2021
Sort of a nit.
Your photo flattens the thorns so that they appear painted on.
White and black are always tough to photograph.
The curves on the bowls show nicely

Maybe play with the lighting and the f stops to get some depth on the thorns and the joinery of the bowl parts.

Two main features of this piece are the thorns and the deconstructed aspects of the bowl parts. Neither show well in your photo. maybe a close up inset in the corner would do them justice.

A very interesting concept that deserves continued exploration.

I agree with Al Hockenbery about the lighting being too uniform resulting in the image not having any depth. Try a single light and a bounce card to create shadows. Also, elevate the camera a bit and rotate the turnings so that the thorns will have some separation from the body. If your camera is capable of shooting HDR⃰ images that might be the easiest solution to get a reasonably good exposure on both the white and black parts.

The screws detract from the overall turning. I think that a mortise and tenon joint would be less obtrusive.

⃰ HDR = high dynamic range. The camera takes a burst of about three shots with about one f-stop increments in shutter speed between shots.
