Variety is the Spice of Life

Butternut Vessel, turned, carved, bleached, and pyro-textured ... standing 4 1/2". This little vessel is in my Double Natural style with both a natural top edge contour as well as a solid natural bottom. It is one of what will total nearly 100 pieces from a downed butternut tree brought to me by some relatives of my wife. They have commissioned me to make for them multiple pieces and have given me liberty to design them as I choose. So, I am crafting a variety of sizes, forms, and functions: Hollow forms, vases, bowls, platters ... some utility, some purely art pieces. Variety is the spice of life!
