Looks great! A happy accident.

I also use Leather dye for an all black it is my favorite.

I use Airbrush paints to avoid bleed through.
You can brush them on. The transparent lets some of the grain show through.
The opaque gives the leather dye look.

Great save......!

I've used leather dye on wood before, and it worked well for me, too.....

That band could now be painted....that is.....if you wanted some contrast.....otherwise, it looks beautiful, just as it is....
