Twisted Flower Jar

This whimsical threaded jar was made from a variety of woods and techniques. The base is spalted black gum, body is walnut and the twisted leaves were turned off-center from myrtle wood then carved to create their organic shape. The flower ‘bud’ was made from monkeypod with oak veneer inlays. Height is 8 inches and maximum diameter is 4 ½ inches. Finish is Watco oil, buffed on the Beall system.
