The Recesses of Nature

What do you see when you look into the recesses?

This Double Natural piece features natural recesses, voids, and both a natural top edge and bottom. It is crafted from boxelder and has a touch of flame highlighting the voids on either side. It balances naturally on an Arkansas stone that was dug out of the earth where a friend is excavating for a new house. I did a black acrylic wash to darken the stone.
