Suddenly Seymour

This whimsical 10-inch tall vase was turned from a cedar log. It started off as a multi-axis turning on the upper half with natural bark retained on the lower section. As the work progressed, it just kept morphing with more texture, carving, color and finishes. It began looking more and more like the man-eating plant Seymour II in the movie/play ‘Little Shop of Horrors’. Maybe it was really Seymour II channeling how we all feel during these trying pandemic times.
