Spalted Red Oak HF

Spalted Red Oak HF

Measures 7 1/4" X 3 3/4". One of my first hollow forms so the opening is a little large at 1 3/4". Finished with Antique Oil.
very nice

Hi Mike,
Not so sure I agree.  I think the size of the opening is very nicely balanced with the overall diamater of the 'shoulders' making a piece that just looks 'right'.
The piece of wood is very interesting too with nearly all of the spalting figure restricted to the top portion.
Well done.
Calum
