River Birch Suspended Vessel

River Birch Suspended Vessel

Vessel from River Birch. Lid and legs from Mahogany. Legs were bent then cut with a rotory tool. This piece is 10.5" tall.
Excellent jim. It reminds me of the old singer sewing machine stands. Is it steam bent or bent laminations?

Looking at the extreme curves in lots of the other pieces, my guess is lamination.
Steam bent may be a little unstable for pieces like these in the long run.
But I may very well be wrong.

And this piece is pretty awesome if you ask me. People don't use birch enough in my opinion, so I'm happy to see a good piece made out of it.

Boy if I tried bending a bit of wood like that Id end up with match sticks you sure have mastered dry heat bending
Lovely work
Cheers
