Mesquite Bowl with Turquoise
Bill Boehme

Mesquite Bowl with Turquoise

Nine inch diameter deep mesquite bowl with Inlace imitation turquoise inlay. Finish is cyanoacrylate. Polished with Micromesh.
Bill, that is just superb. Really, it is stunning. I have wondered about using CA for a finish on a large piece, but have been hesitant to try. The finish looks flawless

@Mark Hepburn
This was one of my early efforts at using a CA finish on a large piece and I have learned a lot since then ... mostly because of doing things the wrong way. Applying a CA finish takes a lot of elbow grease and I might no longer be able to do that sort of stuff due to a shoulder injury.

Nice curve on the bowl. The arc on the rim is pleasing to the eye.
I'm not a turquoise fan but I like the effect of the matching bands inside and out.
Often to me the turquoise is more distraction than feature it makes it hard to see the bowl.
Good one.

The more I look at that bowl the more I see. Al, I didn't even notice that the inlay is both inside and outside of the bowl. Really nice touch. It's so intuitive that it seems a natural part of the bowl.
