Maple with burn

10x3 curly maple with a burned rim. This bowl had a "beal buffing incident" which resulted in a crack. It is best to hold onto the bowls more firmly.
Nice bowl and detailed rim Gynia. How did the buffing incident happen? Was the bowl attached somehow or just sitting on a workbench?

Hi Jeff

The bowl was pulled from my hands while buffing with tripoli and flung across the room. I had the wrong angle of attack for buffing at that particular instant.
