Lidded Vessel

Lidded Vessel

A spalted Flame Box Elder lidded vessel finished with gloss wipe-on poly.
This is awesome. Will the poly stabilize the color? I have a chunk of box elder that started out red, but has now faded while drying. I'm hoping that the red is there right under the surface and I can get it to stay with the finish.

@Dick Koch Thanks - I'll remember that when I'm ready to dig in. I just found some old purpleheart in my "collection" that has started to turn brown, which is a little disappointing. I now assume that all wood will turn brown if exposed to sunlight for long enough. This piece of work is beautiful.
