Flowering Vase

Flowering Vase

American Elm (16” x 9.5”). I turned this piece from the the ground level stump of the tree because, rotated 180 degrees, it has the basic shape of a bouquet of flowers. Transforming the upper elements into floral-like petals required a lot power carving, sculpting and sanding.
