Ebb and Flow

Green Ash free-flowing Open form (6.5” x 7”). I purposefully turned this piece with thicker walls to give me the ability to create relief power carved negative space around the main surface design. After power carving I stippled the surface with pyrography, and then ebonized the negative space surface. Mother nature provided some embellishments of her own with a few, scattered worm holes, which I incorporated into the negative spaces. I also ebonized the inside of the bowl to complete the look I wanted.
