coolibah burl

This relatively thin coolibah burl was given to be by Jane McKimmie, a very good Australian Lady turner. As it was my first ever piece of such a nice wood I only turned an oval which length is 14". Then I turned a small cup in which I glued brass chips.. The finish is a mix of 80% caranauba 20% bees wax
I like the bowl having a "drop" to the outside. It's a nice, interesting effect. Obviously, an interesting, quite large piece of burl. Thanks for sharing.
