The Purple Peacock

The purpleheart body and legs were turned then carved. The head is turned satinwood and purpleheart. The 47 tines are carved from 1"x 1" holly. The row of yellow feathers are satinwood. The 130 other feathers are all carved from different kinds of wood. The most difficult thing in making the piece was figuing out how to structure the piece to be lightweight yet stable. Also a lot of time was taken figuring out the feather angle when glued in place. The piece is 60" x 36" x 6" . I will answer the question everyone asks now. About a month.
Your peacock is really nice, well thought out and well done! Assuming its a wall hanging or does it stand on its own?

PEACOCK!!! Of course!!! I don't know why, but I thought you had gotten a jump on Thanksgiving. Must be the turkey sandwich I had for lunch.

My question is "Where are you going to put it?". 7.5 cubic feet is a sizeable chunk of space.

Quite the accomplishment. Are you breathing a sigh of relief now that it's done, or are you having withdrawal symptoms with no more feathers to work on?
