Black Ash Long bowl
The bowl was made in response a thread in the discussion forum questioning how Mike Hosaluk did the bowls featured in the latest American Wood turner. The way I did it was to prepare a blank 2 1/2" X 5" X 20" then cut that in half and glue together with a paper joint. The half outside contour except for a tenon on the small end and then with the large end supported with a steady rest the inside was turned to about a 3/8" wall thickness. The 2 halves were attached using a zig zag joint.
