Ash Pocket Pill Box

A fun little pocket or keychain pill box made from some reclaimed Colorado Ash
@Bill T Tucker -the Threaded insert is a key chain pill box off ebay - lots of different sizes available. Have fun and get creative -Happy Turning !

This is cool. I just looked at threaded pillboxes on eBay. Is the entire pillbox inserted into this, or did you just used the threaded parts and cut off the base? I've been looking for threaded inserts for another project and this looks like a pretty inexpensive way to go. I can use my metal lathe to remove the base and be left with just the lid and threaded insert.

I'm trying to find something slightly larger in diameter, however, like 1.5" - 2". This looks like about 3/4".

@Matthew Ferriter, Thanks I used the whole base, but you could easily cut it off and use just the threads if thats what you chose -the inside box in this one is aluminum . This one is less that 1/2" diameter inside the box but there are all kinds of different sizes on ebay.

I've been doing some digging and experimenting regarding threaded inserts. I found these multi-stage threaded pillboxes on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088LWXVFP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Each segment can be cut in half to give a male and female threaded ring with an ID of about 1.6".
