This vase started as a whole Walnut bowl, but since the pith was left in it besides It was during my early years of turning. the top portion which is now maple broke off. I did not discard the piece just because of that. Set it aside and couple of years later developed a way to segment it with another contrasting wood(maple). I was pleased with the final finished product and hope you like it as well.
