Hi Michael:

I understand your frustration about working with the new site.

You're right, the current supplier site in not good. It's not inclusive and it is a work in progress. We will be introducing a new inclusive version soon.

I'm not sure what is happening on your homepage and apologize for the problem. You indicated that a paragraph of something covers up the login. I'm not sure I can visualize the issue since we have not had other reports of this problem and it is not happening on my PC. Would you be willing to send me a screen shot of what you are seeing? This will help me to resolve the issue. You can send a screen shot to my email kim@woodturner.org.

Michael, the AAW office is happy to help and we do our best to answer every phone call live. If you ever have questions or problems, I encourage you to contact us by phone Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (CST) at 877-595-9094 (toll free U.S.) or 651-484-9094 or email us at memberservices@woodturner.org.

Kind regards,
Kim

What happened to all of the videos? I have to search now instead of just browsing and the search function returns nothing for say "Nick Cook" or "Stuart Batty." I searched for "honey" and got a YouTube link.

Hi Doug: Thanks for checking in! Yes, all of the videos are now included in our Explore/Video Source function and you do need to search for them. When doing a search, I recommend entering very little information into the search fields. For example, type only "Batty" into the "Author" field and click the "Search" button. You'll get more search results this way. Also, when the results are displayed, there will be a red icon to the right of each item in the search results. This icon indicates whether the item is an article or a video. Lastly, many of the items are videos that reside in the public domain (i.e.: YouTube). Each of these videos has been reviewed by our volunteer panel of safety and quality reviewers, so you can be assured that techniques are safe and that there is a quality educational value to the video. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out. Cheers! Kim kim@woodturner.org

Kim, I agree with Doug. Being able to see a listing of the videos without doing a search first is more useful to me. Browsing shows me all the videos, whereas searching requires that I am looking for a particular subject...what if I don't know that a certain video might catch my attention...how would I search for it? When I could browse the listings, I watched many that weren't on my bucket list, but came away with new information as a result.

Hi Rick: Thank you for your feedback on the videos. We are still in the process of fine tuning various areas of functionality on the new website. After the current priorities are completed, we can certainly look at adding a way to browse the videos. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions. Cheers! Kim kim@woodturner.org

Kim I can see what is being said as to subject . Sometimes you are not looking for specific but for an inspiration on the next project. So what if the videos are listed as they once were and search allows someone to look for specifics such as subject, author or tools used.

Hi Gerald: Yes, I get it. I have noticed that there is not even a keyword for "inspiration" and there are a lot of videos that would qualify. We can't make changes immediately, but after the current priorities are completed we can certainly look at making some changes. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions. Cheers!
