That I didn't destroy. I've had my lathe for one month and have destroyed some timber and tool steel. Every chance I get I slip off to the shop and practice. I'm posting my first piece that didn't turn into shavings. It's a piece of the red oak that you guys warned me about. I'm making firewood out of the rest of it. I rough turned it and dried it in an old incubator that I made several years back. There is no design, I just cut wood away until no cracks were left, finished with Danish oil, and buffed with wax. I made a few tools also. I know the bowl is simple and nothing to show off, I just wanted to post my first.
